Disclosed are an electronic device and an image processing method of the electronic device. According to the image processing method of the present invention, the method includes the steps of: acquiring image detail information by applying a preset filter in an image; individually detecting an edge area and a texture area included in the image detail information; dividing the edge area into a plurality of areas, applying different gain values to each image signal corresponded to the areas, and compensating the image detail information by applying a gain value less than a preset value when the image signal corresponded to the texture area is the threshold value or more.
