<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent vertical or horizontal streak-like display unevenness on appearance observation, in a liquid crystal display device that achieves multi-domain orientation with a plurality of slits.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate 11, a second substrate 12, a first electrode 13, a second electrode 14, and a liquid crystal layer 17. At least one of the first electrode and second electrode includes a plurality of openings 18 in an area where at least the first electrode and second electrode overlap with each other. The plurality of openings each include a first portion extending in a first direction and a second portion extending in a second direction intersecting the first direction. A plurality of areas defined by being surrounded by any three or more of the plurality of openings are arranged in a checkered pattern.</p> |
