Provided is a tape printing device or the like which makes it possible to simultaneously detect the closure of an opening/closing lid and the presence/absence of a tape cartridge. The tape printing device is equipped with a cartridge mounting section (5) in which a tape cartridge (100) is detachably mounted, an opening/closing lid (7) for opening and closing the cartridge mounting section (5), a lid detection part (52) for detecting the closure of the opening/closing lid (7) and provided in the cartridge mounting section (5), and a detectable projection (83) provided on the opening/closing lid (7) so as to correspond to the lid detection part (52). Furthermore, the detectable projection (83) displaces a displaceable part (186) of the tape cartridge (100) mounted in the cartridge mounting section (5) when the opening/closing lid closes, and the lid detection part (52) performs the detection operation according to the displacement of the displaceable part (186). |
