An indoor unit (2) for an air conditioner (1) has a casing (23), a plate-like section (26), and a heat insulating material (27).The casing (23) has indoor air inlets (52a, 53a) and outlet (56a). The plate-like section (26) and the heat insulating material (27) define a gap (S1) that is near the outlet (56a) and into which the indoor air enters. Airflow resistance increasing regions (C1, C2) are formed in the plate-like section (26) and the heat insulating material (27). The Airflow resistance increasing regions (C1, C2) are shaped to increase airflow resistance in the gap (S1). In the indoor unit (2) of the air conditioner (1), growth of condensation water near the outlet (56b) is suppressed, and this in turn suppresses dropping of the water.
