PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gripping tool capable of easily picking up a foreign matter in a liquid stored in a liquid reservoir provided in a nuclear reactor. SOLUTION: The gripping tool 1 includes a body frame 2 of a long-sized tube shape, and an object gripping section 5 comprising a plurality of opening/closing movable pieces is provided on one end of the frame 2 and a handle section 3 gripped by a worker out of water is provided on the other end of the frame 2. A compressed air feed section 30 feeds a specified amount of compressed air to a compressed air storage section 40 when a lever 4 provided on the handle section 3 is moved from a first position to a second position. When the compressed air is fed to a cylinder section 60 through a compressed air channel 90 due to an increase in air pressure caused by the compressed air, the opening/closing movable pieces 6, 7 are moved to approach each other.
