A keyboard used for typing tutoring comprises a plurality of keys, in whi ch each key comprises first and second actuators. The first actuator is arra nged to generate a keystroke signal when the key is pressed by a first presc ribed amount to record a normal keystroke on a computer with which the keybo ard is associated. The second actuator is arranged to generate a contact sig nal when the key is contacted by a user and pressed by a second prescribed a mount which is less than the first prescribed amount. An indicator responsiv e to the contact signals generated by the second actuators of the keys indic ates to the user which key has been contacted. The indicator is operable ind ependently of a monitor of the computer which displays the normal keystrokes .
