PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fall prevention apparatus which realizes the fall prevention function of preventing the fall of a chassis by a one-way mechanism interlocked with operations during the ascent/descent of the chassis, without the need for a power source for supplying a driving force, and which realizes the automatic release stair function of releasing a stair function when unnecessary, and multistory parking equipment. SOLUTION: This fall prevention apparatus 100 can realize the one-way fall prevention mechanism of enabling the fall prevention function by making a swivel fork 2 swivel in such a manner as to be interlocked with the ascending motion of a pallet 19, and can enhance functionality for the fall prevention apparatus by its rotary mechanism. When releasing the fall prevention function, the fall prevention apparatus 100 makes a wind-up machine wind up a towing wire 9. This dispenses with the operation of temporarily releasing a load on the side of the pallet 19, enables a reduction in functional burden on the side of the multistory parking equipment, and enables a reduction in cost.
