<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make effective use of a waste toner storage member by recovering the generated waste toners into one waste toner storage member while averaging, and preventing the stain of a full detection section due to the scattering toners, and detecting the full of the waste toner storage member with high accuracy in an image forming apparatus of a tandem system to obtain a color image by disposing a plurality of image forming units in parallel. <P>SOLUTION: The amount of the waste toners flowing from a first recovering port 31B is estimated from the amount of toner supplied from a toner cartridge.
