The invention relates to a headlight lamp having at least one spiral-wound filament (14) which is surrounded by a lamp vessel (10), the at least one spiral-wound filament (14) being constructed in such a way that while the lamp is operating it generates a light current whose value is higher than a predefined, permissible maximum value for the light current of the lamp and the lamp vessel (10) has a region (103, 104) of reduced light transmission, with the aid of which region the light current which leaves the headlight lamp while the lamp is operating is reduced to a value of less than or equal to the predefined permissible maximum value. As a result, the luminance of the lamp and the lighting intensity at the important distance points in front of the headlight are increased. |
