When driving with e.g. doors closed, the roof grip (4) is prevented from swinging out from rest into its active settings and so activating the airbag (3). When the holding grip (4) swings out into function setting, it triggers an alarm system so as to guard against a possible collision between the grip-operating arm of the person and the activated airbag (3) thus warning the occupant of collision danger. The grip preventing device consists of an arrester (9) power-actuated depending on driving condition so as to arrest the spring resetting the holding grip. This device is activated to arrest the grip in its functional setting and otherwise release it. From the arrester guide (10), the arrester (10) pin (11) engages a grip recess (12) radial to the axis (6) of the swivel bearing of the holding grip. |
