PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch between effectiveness and ineffectiveness on guidance without necessitating user's operation. SOLUTION: This navigation system comprises a position detection means for detecting the position of a movable body, a map data storage means for therein storing map data, and a route search means for performing guidance by searching for a guidepath leading up to a destination. This system is characterized by being equipped with a means for causing a passage record storage means to store therein the number of passages on each road, and a means for stopping guidance on a road on which the number of passages is larger than a threshold based on the stored passage record.
