<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seawater intake system capable of reducing the silting of a sand layer or breaking the biological film formed in the sand layer and also capable of easily removing suspended matter or the like deposited on the surface of the sand layer. <P>SOLUTION: A water-conveyance pipe 10 is embedded in a sand layer 3 at a sea bottom 2; and naturally seeped seawater through a sand layer 3 is taken by seawater intake pipes 12, 14 (water intake zone 10a) at the tip of the water-conveyance pipe 10. Water depth at the sand layer 3 where the seawater intake zone 10a is formed, is made larger than the water depth in an area where the sand in a surface layer portion of the sand layer 3 moves not less than 50 cm but is made smaller than the water depth in an area where the sand moves not less than 1 cm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
