PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and easily press a caulking pipe in the jacket of an optical fiber cable from its tip without requiring troublesome manual inserting operation and to precisely inserting and positioning the caulking pipe. SOLUTION: A caulking pipe inserting device is equipped with a cable holding portion 2 which can be moved forward and backward by an operation member L while the optical fiber P is inserted and set, a couple of guide members 3 which are arranged opposite each other to releases a spring-energized closed end from being pushed by a tip projection portion of the cable holding portion 2 moved forward by the operation member L and guide the caulking pipe S previously inserted into a coated optical fiber R, and a coated optical fiber passage portion 4 which has a tip of a stopper portion 4B of the caulking pipe S formed atop and inserts the coated optical fiber R while locking the tip of the caulking pipe S guided and moved forward by the guide member 3 to the stopper portion 4B.
