PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized, low cost maintenance mechanism of an inkjet recorder for obtaining the optimum maintenance operation corresponding to the condition of an ejection nozzle. SOLUTION: A suction section 12 of a suction nozzle device 3 is moved along an arrangement direction of the multiple ejection nozzles by a movement mechanism 5 in a condition that the suction section 12 is in contact with an ink ejection face 2 formed by arranging the multiple ejection nozzles. The movement speed of the suction section 12 by the movement mechanism 5 is controlled according to a plurality of maintenance modes in which the different movement speeds are set.
