The device has first and second controlled movable holders (3,4) for each half shell (1,2), whereby the first holder has a first clamping jaw (5) and the second holder has a second clamping jaw (6). The jaws compress the peripheral flanges of the half shell. It has a number of clamping devices (12) for controllable connection of both clamping jaws. Each clamping device is attached to the first holder and a movable clamping bolt can be connected in a shape-locking manner in its shifted position to a socket (17) provided in the second holder.
