MEMORY CARD CONNECTOR WITH IMPROVED GROUNDING SYSTEM

A memory card connector is provided for mounting on a printed circuit board. The connector includes an insulative housing having a rear terminal-mounting section mounting a plurality of terminals for engaging appropriate contacts on a memory card and defining at least part of a receptacle for receiving a mating end of the memory card. A side wall section extends forwardly from at least one end of the rear section. A grounding member is mounted on the side wall section for grounding the memory card to the printed circuit board. The grounding member includes an arm portion for engaging a ground contact on the memory card and a base portion sandwiched between the side wall section and the circuit board to hold the base portion in positive contact with an appropriate ground pad on the printed circuit board.
