PURPOSE:To eliminate the needs for a decision processing and to simplify processed contents by dividing an outside picture like a skin layer with a line perpendicular to or nearly to a straight line connecting a visual point and a picture center, and translucently composing it with an inside picture like a bone part by using only data on a part near to the visual point. CONSTITUTION:A skin layer picture 2A obtained by a pixed method and a bone part 2B by a surface method are written in a memory 2. A CPU 1 in this state starts a high-speed arithmetic circuit 4, which first of all fetches a skin sectional picture composing the 2A, and executes the decision of a segment straight line (l). Then, said circuit 4 cuts the skin layer picture with the segment straight line (l) and segments the front side picture. With the use of the sectional picture thus segmented, the segment three-dimensional picture 2A is formed. A three-dimensional translucent display picture 2C can be obtained if the segment picture 2A and the bone part picture 2B are composed translucently and the composed picture is displayed.
