PURPOSE:To shorten the overall length of a transmission by providing an output shaft for driving a crown gear in such a way as to locate the crown gear at the outer side of a clutch. CONSTITUTION:A driving force from an engine is change with the gear type speed change device 7 of a main shaft 9 and a sub-shaft 10, and transmitted to an output shaft 11. A drive pinion 17 gears with a crown gear 18 at the front end side of the output shaft 11 via gears 12 and 13 engaged at all times, and the driving force is transferred to the rear wheel side at the rear end of the shaft 11 via a transfer device 8. The crown gear 18 is in the proximity of a clutch 6 and that arranged at the outer side thereof.
