PURPOSE:To measure the shape of a three-dimensionally twisted body of rotation, specially, the shroud shape of a blade speedily at low cost by measuring the shape by image processing. CONSTITUTION:While the body to be measured is rotated intermittently, its projection images are picked up continuously and processed in order. Namely, light from a light source 1 is made into parallel light by an optical system 2 and the parallel light is passed through a mirror 3 and made incident on the body 4 to be measured which is mounted rotatably on a sample driving device 22, so that projection light from the body 4 is incident on a half-mirror 7 through optical systems 5 and 6. Image information picked up by respective pickup devices 11, 13, 17, and 19 is supplied to an image processor 20 to correct the position relation among the respective images by an autocalibration function when it is necessary, and also find the reference of shape measurement and find the radial size of the images axially and continuously by using the reference. The results of those processed and the states of the respective images can be displayed on a display device 21. Thus, the shape of the three- dimensionally twisted body of rotation, specially, the shroud shape of the blade is measured speedily at low cost.
