PURPOSE:To remove oxygen dissolved in liquid nitrogen and to eliminate a danger of exploding in case of inspecting a superconducting apparatus by introducing deoxidizer to a liquid nitrogen passage circulated by a cooler of a vessel in which the apparatus is contained. CONSTITUTION:The body 2 of a superconducting apparatus is contained together with liquid nitrogen 6 in a vessel 1. The vessel 1 is connected by a pipe 4 to a cooler 3. A bypass cooling pipe 4' is attached to the pipe 4 from which the nitrogen 6 is exhausted from the cooler 3 to form one chamber, and a molecular sheave 5 is disposed as a deoxidizer. The liquid nitrogen is normally fed to the pipe 4 which passes the tank of the sheave 5 by way of a valve 8 in contact at the sheave 5 with liquid oxygen contained in the nitrogen 6 to be adsorbed. If the sheave 5 adsorbs the oxygen tended to be saturated, a valve 7 of a bypass 4' is opened and the valve 8 is closed, thereby replacing the sheave 5. |
