A method and a system for generating a user-responsive augmented image are provided to introduce a virtual agent concept to augmented reality. An image obtaining unit(12) obtains an image about a reality object. A situation determining unit(22) determines a situation of a reality space according to the first situation information and a situation of a virtual space in which a virtual object exists according to the second situation information to determine a situation of an augmented image. An operation parameter generating unit generates an agent operation parameter related to an operation of a responsive agent. A rendering unit(18) generates an augmented image by using the image obtained by the image obtaining unit and the agent operation parameter generated by the operation parameter generating unit.
