DISPLAY DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD OF DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of accurately detecting illuminance of external light and controlling a luminance level of a display image, and a control method of the display device.

SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with: a display panel having a display surface for displaying an image; a first sensor S1 detecting temperature; a second sensor S2 detecting temperature and the illuminance of the external light radiated from the display surface side; and a control mechanism fetching synthetic information of information detected by the first sensor and information detected by the second sensor, deriving information on the illuminance of the external light based on the synthetic information and controlling operation of a system in accordance with the derived information.
