<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum heat insulating material that uses powder as a core material and is excellent in heat insulating performance even in forming the powder into a highly strong molded product in order to inhibit scattering of the powder. <P>SOLUTION: The vacuum heat insulating material 1 is configured as follows. A core material 2 is formed by mixing silica powder 4 with thermoplastic resin fibers 5. The core material is covered with a covering material 3. The inside of the covering material 3 is decompressed and sealed. There is an adhesive part between the silica powder 4 and each thermoplastic resin fiber 5. A bulk density of the core material 2 is≥130 kg/m<SP>3</SP>and≤250 kg/m<SP>3</SP>.
