PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient luminous flux shape changing device capable of changing rectangular shape of luminous flux to circular shape or changing circular shape thereof to rectangular shape with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The luminous flux shape changing optical system includes an optical device having at least one free curved surface mentioned later.
