PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating an arrowroot utilizing a fallow field to efficiently harvest its flowers, leaves, stems and roots through cultivating it in a farm while preventing it from intruding into other farms, to easily harvest its perennial stems in particular. SOLUTION: The method for cultivating an arrowroot comprises the following process: Arrowroot seedlings are produced by its cuttage, and then planted in a farm covered with a highly water-permeable and air-permeable sheet preventing its terrestrial stems from rooting from its knots, thus cultivating the arrowroot without using any supporting poles and growing it while suppressing weed breeding, and easily harvesting its perennial stems; in this process, a vacant land is provided around the arrowroot's cultivation farmland, and by plowing the vacant land two or three times in its breeding season ranging from June to August, the arrowroot is prevented from intruding into other farms.
