METHOD FOR PROVIDING PACKET SERVICE WHILE HAND-OVER BETWEEN DIFFERENT KINDS NETWORKS AND MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL FOR THE SAME

A packet service method in the handover between heterogeneous networks and a mobile communication terminal therefor are provided to prevent the service from being interrupted although an IP address is changed due to the change of a connection network. A communication control module firstly assigns a virtual IP(Internet Protocol) to a terminal(S301). When an application module requests packet data transmission/reception with a traffic server by using the virtual IP(S313-a), the communication control module converts the corresponding virtual IP into an IP_A(S313-b) to communicate with the traffic server(S313-c). The communication control module receives packets next to the previously received packet(S325-b,S325-c).
