PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor capable of suppressing short-circuiting or an increase in leakage current and improving the yield of manufacturing processes, and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the solid electrolytic capacitor comprising an anode body 1 made of a porous body of valve-acting metal or its alloy, an anode lead 10 having one end 10a embedded in the anode body 1, a dielectric layer 2 formed on a surface of the anode body 1, a cathode layer 6 formed on the dielectric layer 2, an anode terminal 9 connected to the other end 10b of the anode lead 10, a cathode terminal 8 connected to the cathode layer 6, and a resin housing 11 molded out of resin so that a portion of the anode terminal 9 and a portion of the cathode terminal 8 are exposed to the outside, and covering the anode body 1 and anode lead 10, the solid electrolytic capacitor being characterized in that a curved portion 10c or bent portion 10d capable of reducing stress generated in an axial direction A of the anode lead 10 and a direction B perpendicular thereto when the resin housing 11 is molded and formed is formed at a portion of the anode lead 10 projecting from the anode body 1.
