PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an image display apparatus that achieves prevention of the occurrence of irregular color, excellent image display with a wide color reproduction region and excellent durability; a light-emitting device capable of emitting light of desirable color tone stably over the long term; and a discharge liquid, a discharge liquid set, a thin film pattern forming method and a thin film that are optimally applicable to the image display apparatus, the light-emitting device and the like. SOLUTION: The discharge liquid, which is used for an ink jet method, contains particulate quantum dot and dispersion medium. The dispersion medium contains dodecane, tetradecane, cyclohexylbenzene, decalin, butoxyl ethanol, ethyl octanoate, 4-methyl-1, 3-dioxolane-2-on, bis(2-butoxyl ethyl)ether, diethylene glycol mono buthyl ether acetate, diethylene glycol mono ethyl ether acetate, dipropylene glycol methyl ether acetate, and 1, 3-butylene glycol diacetate.
