A cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery is provided to ensure excellent resistance to acid generated near the cathode active material, and to increase fluidity of lithium ions present within electrolyte without reaction with electrolyte. A cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery comprises a first cathode active material of high-capacity and a highly stable second cathode active material. The first cathode active material and the second cathode active material are coated with inorganic compounds. The first cathode active material is one selected from the group consisting of nickel-based lithium composite metal oxide having a layered structure, a lithium composite metal oxide having a 5V class spinel structure, and their mixture. |
