2-point regulation system for reluctance motor

The regulation system uses a 2-point regulator for simultaneous control of the switches for both sides of each phase winding of the reluctance motor, with the winding current supplied back to the voltage source during the free-running phases via free-running diodes. The switch which is connected in series with the measuring shunt (R9), providing the actual input for the regulator, is periodically operated during the free-running phase, to provide a free-running short-circuit across the switch, the measuring shunt and a free-running diode, with simultaneous sampling of the actual current.
