PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for a touch panel excellent in embrittlement resistance and capable of maintaining flexibility and workability of the film even after the film is subjected to a thermal treatment at a high temperature for a long period. SOLUTION: This polyester film for a touch panel is a polyester film containing a polyester in which 90 mol% or more of all repeating units is ethylene terephthalate and the content of a diethylene glycol component in the polymer is 0.2 to 0.8 wt.%, and having a thickness of 100 to 300μm, a haze of 15% or less, and an intrinsic viscosity of the polyester of the film after the film subjected to a thermal treatment at 150°C for 24 hours of 0.50 or more.
