<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission shaft that inexpensively and easily improves twist strength. <P>SOLUTION: The power transmission shaft includes an integrated hollow shaft 1, and solid members 2 which are inserted into both axial ends 1a, 1b of the integrated hollow shaft 1, and made short in axial lengths. The integrated hollow shaft 1 and the solid members 2 are integrally connected via an irregularity engagement structure M with which entire engagement contact regions of protrusions 31 and recesses 32 closely contact. The protrusions 31 extending in the axial direction are formed at outside diameter faces of the solid members 2, the solid members 2 are press-inserted into the integrated hollow shaft 1, and part of the integrated hollow shaft 1 is extruded and/or cut by the press-insertion, thus forming the recesses 32 at the integrated hollow shaft 1 along the axial direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
