<p>Provided is a level shifter which does not require a dedicated power source and which can avoid deterioration of step-up characteristics even for depletion-mode transistors. This level shifter (1) is provided with an input terminal to which an input voltage is applied, a capacitor (13), a first transistor (11) which is disposed between the input terminal and one electrode of the capacitor (13) and which is connected from the gate electrode to the other electrode of the capacitor (13), a second transistor (12) which is disposed between the input terminal and said other electrode of the capacitor (13), a signal generation unit (20) which, during the period in which an input voltage is inputted to the input terminal, generates a signal for switching the second transistor (12) from a conducting state to a non-conducting state and supplies said signal to the gate electrode of the second transistor (12), and an output terminal which outputs the voltage of said other electrode of the capacitor (13) as the output voltage, said voltage having been converted by the second transistor (12) assuming the non-conducting state during the aforementioned period.</p> |
