PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing high-purity bis(hydroxyethyl) ethers of bisphenols with less unreacted substances and by-products.SOLUTION: A production method is for producing bis(hydroxyethyl) ethers of bisphenols from bisphenols and ethylene carbonate or ethylene oxide and includes adding a nonpolar organic solvent and an aqueous solution of an alkali to a reaction mixture, carrying out liquid separation and taking out bis(hydroxyethyl) ethers of bisphenols from the organic solvent layer. |
