摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with fixation means capable of almost equivalently heating toner images in different colors even without relying on additives.SOLUTION: A fixing device 90 of an image forming apparatus heats images by irradiating the images formed by using toner containing high polymer materials and carried in a recording medium with infrared rays. A heating element 901H generates heat by conduction, and generates the infrared rays for heating the images from the surface. Many recesses crowded by providing opening length corresponding to an infrared rays absorption peak of carbon-hydrogen bond are formed on the surface of the heating element 901H. A peak of infrared ray absorption wavelength to be generated by the heating element 901H is set as 2.6 μm or more and 3.6 μm or less by forming predetermined fine structure on the surface of the heating element 901H. The recesses of the heating element 901H have unit structure in a depth direction corresponding to integer multiples of wavelength of the infrared rays absorption peak of the carbon-hydrogen bond.
