The liquid-dispensing comb (110) includes a liquid reservoir (113) in the handle (116) and/or spine (112) thereof, with the teeth (114) of the comb (110) being hollow to allow liquid to flow from the reservoir (113) into the teeth (114). Outlets (118) are provided along the sides of the teeth (114) rather than at their distal tips (119), to distribute liquid to the hair strands as the comb (110) is passed therethrough, rather than to the scalp of the person using the comb (110). Various embodiments include pneumatic devices (122) for pressurizing the reservoirs (113) of the combs (110), thus forcing liquid to flow from the outlets (118) along the sides of the teeth (114). Another embodiment includes an internal plate (224) with a series of stops (226) thereon, the stops (226) fitting into corresponding passages (217) at the bases of the teeth (214). A handle (228) extends from the spine (212) of the comb (210), enabling the user to manipulate the internal plate (224) to control flow from the reservoir (222) and into the teeth (214). |
