[Class 61 (ii)] A device referred to as spiling tongs, a number of which are used to expedite the transfer of lines drawn on the mould loft floor or on a base board to a sheet of wood, synthetic resin, metal, &c. to enable it to be cut to the shape of the line for use as a templet for making parts of boats, flying boats, aeroplanes, &c. comprises a base 1 with pins 2 for fixing it on the mould loft floor &c. and an arm 4 secured thereto as by means of a spacing member 3 so that when a number of the devices are arranged spaced along the line, say at right angles thereto with the tips of the arms lying on the line, the templet sheet may be located under the arms and a line drawn thereon by using a batten or spline held in contact with the tips of the arms. Modifications are described having the arm movable about a vertical pivot on the base or folding in a, vertical plane. |
