<p>A closure assembly 40 for preventing damage to trapped fingers, wherein the assembly has a frame 56, a barrier 42, such as a door or window, and a resiliently deformable segment member 44a, 44b. The member(s) may be polyurethane foam, fire-resistant, intumescent and sound-attenuating, and may be co-extensive, and abut a sealing surface of the barrier or frame. The barrier and frame may have a lock (12, fig 1) and strikeplate (16, fig 1), with multiple members above and below the lock. A roller latching mechanism 50 may retain the barrier. The member and sealing surface may be magnetically attracted (114, fig 10B). A slidable shield (84, fig 7) may cover part of the member to prevent unauthorized or illegal access. The members may be added to oblique, angled or diagonal surfaces (166, 170, fig 15) of the barrier and frame.</p> |
