Circuit and method for determining the temperature difference between two temperature sensors

The arrangement alternatively supplies an amplifier stage (30) to a signal level of temperature sensors (MS1, MS2). Analog-to-digital (A/D) converter (40) digitalizes the signals of the stage and transmits the digitalized signals to a digital processor (50) e.g. microprocessor, for processing. The processor determines a temperature difference from the digitized signals and provides a temperature difference signal as an output (A1). The temperature difference signal is provided as an analog temperature difference signal via a digital-to-analog (D/A) converter (61) or as a digital information via a digital interface for further processing. The amplifier stage adapts to the respective switched signal level for a downstream high resolution analog/digital converter (40). An independent claim is also included for a method for determination of a temperature difference between two temperature sensors.
