The present invention relates to the technical field of computers , and particularly, to a method and system for operating a device, so as to solve the problem in prior art that user data collected on a device shared by multiple users is a sum of behaviors of the multiple users and effective individual data cannot be identified, recorded or applied. The method comprises: after an operation command is received, determining user characteristic information of a user that is currently performing an operation (101) ; determining, according to a correspondence between the user characteristic information and user information, the user information corresponding to the user characteristic information of the user that is currently performing the operation (102); and performing the operation command according to the determined user information (103) . The user information corresponding to the user characteristic information of the user that is currently performing the operation is determined according to the correspondence between the user characteristic information and the user information, and accordingly, the effective individual data can be identified, recorded and applied on the device shared by the multiple users. |
