RUBBER COMPOSITION AND PNEUMATIC TIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which has a high elongation at break and is excellent in low heat build-up property, and a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition.SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains: a diene-based rubber which contains a modified polymer produced by reacting a modifier having a nitrone group with a double bond of a styrene-butadiene rubber, and a butadiene rubber; and silica. The mass ratio (modified polymer/butadiene rubber) of the modified polymer to the butadiene rubber is 95/5-68/32. The pneumatic tire uses the rubber composition.
