<p>The invention relates to a method for forming at least one essentially flat-surfaced blank (10) to form a shell body (30), comprising the following steps: forming at least one flat-surfaced blank (12, 12'), which has a partially circular design, from the at least one flat-surfaced blank (10); joining a truncated cone-shaped blank (14, 14') from the at least one flat-surfaced, partially circular blank (12, 12') by welding along mutually facing surface lines (16, 16', 16'') of the at least one flat-surfaced, partially circular blank (12, 12'); clamping the truncated cone-shaped blank (14, 14') on or in a supporting structure (26) in which the truncated cone-shaped blank (14, 14') is received without contact with progressive deformation to the shell body (30); and deforming the truncated cone-shaped blank (14, 14') by means of at least one deforming tool (32) that acts upon the inner side (18) of the truncated cone-shaped blank (14, 14') to form the shell body (30). The invention also relates to the use of said shell body for producing rotationally symmetric and/or not rotationally symmetric shell-shaped components.</p> |
