Disclosed is a lighter than air vehicle 2 comprising: an envelope 34 containing a lighter than air gas, part of the envelope is transparent and permits the passage of light 28, and a system 46 that selectively redirects the light which passes through the envelope. The vehicle may further comprise a plurality of devices 44, 50, such as a solar panel or a camera, for receiving the light. The system that selectively redirects the light may be for redirecting the light onto one of the devices. The system that redirects the light may be a concave mirror. There may be a further mirror (56, fig. 6) located at a focal point of the concave mirror, the further mirror being configured to move with respect to the concave mirror. The mirror may be a deformable mirror. The deformable mirror may be deformable by way of a plurality of selectively inflatable pouches 64 coupled between the concave mirror and the envelope. The inflatable pouches may be independently inflatable. |
