PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable flexible observation by increasing the degree of freedom of a scanning speed of illumination light to an object to be observed. ! SOLUTION: An image acquisition device 1 includes: a light source 3 which emits illumination light; an optical scanner 7 which scans a sample S with the illumination light; an optical scanner control part 9; a detection optical system (an objective 15 and a relay optical system 17) which images fluorescent light from the sample S; and an imaging device 19 which has a light reception plane having an array of a plurality of pixel columns for picking up a formed fluorescent image, and an imaging control part 19b, and can read signals out of the light reception plane by the plurality of pixel columns; and a calculation part 21 which calculates intervals of a signal read between adjacent pixel columns based upon a moving speed of scanning by the optical scanner 7 in an irradiated region on the light reception plane.
