<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an appearance of an indoor unit of an air conditioner from being impaired. <P>SOLUTION: In the indoor unit of an air conditioner 100, 200 whose shell is composed of a body 1 and a panel 2 provided on the body 1 and formed with a suction port 11 and a discharge port 12, the indoor unit includes a suction flap 5 which is rotatably provided on the suction port 11 to open or block the suction port 11 and is substantially rectangular in a flat surface having long sides and short sides and a rotating member 13 which rotates the suction flap 5 via a rotating shaft along a longitudinal direction.
