<p>The method involves perpendicularly aligningly positioning a pipe (1) above an installation location (3) by suspending the pipe at a striking device (4). Repetitive force impulses are delivered on a front side (5) of a pipe by a striker (8) of the striking device for driving the pipe into a ground (2), where the front side of the pipe is provided far from the ground. The striker is linearly movably mounted in a housing (6) of the striking device. The striker is driven by a hydraulically operating drive device (7). A striking plate (9) is suspended at the housing.
