A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for improved cursor placement. A user may make a touch input and/or swiping gesture to a touch screen keypad and/or text. The cursor may be positioned in the text based on a selected key, direction of swiping gesture, and/or repetition of the swiping gesture. The cursor may be positioned relative to two selected keys. A selection mode may be activated to select text based on a desired cursor placement. Corrections to the cursor placement may also be made. |
