Disclosed are a data searching apparatus using an index and a method thereof. The data searching apparatus includes: a data collecting unit which receives one or more data searched in a database to correspond to a user query and identifies one or more data received based on data identification information including a data identification ID and a feature vector; an index generating unit which extracts data identification information from one or more data and generates an index by combining the extracted identification information; and a ranking calculating unit which calculates a ranking point for one or more data by using the index and a pre-constructed data alignment model. Therefore, efficiency and the speed of data search can be increased.
