A method for connecting underground services to houses with maximum maintenance access has a service shaft (10) for up to four houses with connections to the main supply feeds and drains. The drainage ducts (22, 24) from the houses, e.g. foul water and rain water, are ducted into the main drains (12, 14) via shaped connectors fitted with upper inspection and rodding ports (13, 15). The remaining services are provides via a template/distribution system.
