PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method which enables the production of an artificial skin model.SOLUTION: A method of producing an artificial skin model comprises preparing a coated cell 1 in which the surface of a cell 3 is covered with a coating 2 containing an extracellular matrix component, culturing the coated cell 1 and forming a dermal tissue layer 7 in which the coated cells 1 are laminated, and disposing an epidermal cell 8 on the dermal tissue layer 7 to form an epidermal layer 12.
